Hi! I am Yili! I am a philosopher. My main interests lie in metaethics, aesthetics (esp. the philosophy of music), and Chinese philosophy.

I am currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Duke Kunshan University.

I received my Ph.D. in Philosophy with a Ph.D. minor in Piano Performance & Music Education from the University of Arizona. I have multicultural experience studying in both the Chinese and U.S. educational systems, and multidisciplinary experience as both a philosopher and a musician. These experiences have equipped me to recognize the overlaps between Chinese ethics and ethics in the analytic philosophy tradition, as well as to understand how musicians approach and discuss topics, such as issues about normativity, differently from philosophers. My goal is to bridge gaps, integrate diverse perspectives, and write from the dual perspectives of a philosopher and a musician, as well as from both Chinese cultural and analytic philosophical traditions.
