I organize small, discussion-oriented workshops in aesthetics and philosophy of art at Duke Kunshan University (DKU), focusing on normative questions about moral issues in art and aesthetic value. DKU is a joint venture of Duke University and Wuhan University, located in Kunshan, next to Suzhou and within easy reach of Shanghai. These events are designed for focused conversation and collaborative exchange across traditions. Apart from rigorous philosophical discussion, I hope these workshops offer a chance to enjoy the region itself: Kunshan blends modern and traditional Chinese culture, and the natural scenery around this area inspires new ideas and provides a wonderful experience of doing philosophy. These workshops are open to the public, and no registration is needed.
